Would you like to get involved?

Volunteering is a great way to get involved and be part of the community. You will pick up on some amazing skills, it will look great on your resume and we will get the help we need to make sure that we keep providing the spiritual inspiration that our visitors need. Plus, you will benefit from being part of our spiritual community groups and make lifelong friends.

Below are some examples of volunteering you could do:

  • Serving at the Gift Shop
  • Distributing books and placing them in various institutions
  • Helping in the car park
  • Cleaning
  • Helping prepare delicious feasts in the kitchen
  • Greeting guests and helping with queries
  • Organic farming and milking cows
  • Gardening and helping maintain the grounds
  • Maintenance and DIY
  • Computers and geeky stuff
  • Distributing and serving food
  • Office admin tasks

Taster Seva Sessions

Where: Krishna Island
When: Sundays from 12.30am to 2.30pm
Areas: Kitchen, Farm, Cow Protection Centre, Cleaning, & Gardening.
Meet us: at the Barge, Sri Krishna Island at 12.30am sharp.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum age for volunteering?

You can volunteer with an adult from any age if you are able to e.g: make samosas. If you are 16-17 year old you can come alone but will need a consent from parents/guardian and under supervision. If you are 18 and over you can come on your own.

Do I need to commit for a certain number of hours?

No, but we ask you come at least for two hours minimum. If you can commit on a regular basis, you’ll have a much wider range of opportunities. You can volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis. Based on your choices, we’ll get in touch with you to discuss options.

Do I need any training?

All volunteers have to attend free annual training and also appropriate training for the area of services they maybe involved in.

Can I get a Hare Krishna T-shirt if I volunteer?

Of course, our T-shirts and other merchandise are available to all regular volunteers.
